Staying at Fair Harbor RV Park in Perry, GA tonight. Just so so. Last night on the road and last night of this blog until next camping trip - short w/e in August. Ready to be home. Met up with Susan B off the interstate in Nashville for lunch! That was great. Rest of day was just driving. No pics. Good bye, E

Two More Days to home
By now, we're ready to get back to the comfort of our "stick house" as they are known in the RV'ing world. We are in Paducah KY tonight at a nice family owned campground. We drove through rain and modest but never fun wind at times. I drove through St. Louis and saw the Arch up close and personal. We saw bison in fields in Illinois - not the West , surprisingly. The last photo is from Wolf Creek Pass. The others are from a stopover in Burlington CO yesterday to see the Kit Carson County Carousel - a fabulous original hand carved carousel that goes 10 mph - swoosh, fast - it is the pride of the county. I know I would never see this again so we hung around for an hour at a playground that dtr loved then went in the carousel at 11 AM. What a work of art. 95% original paint and parts. Such a treasure in a train/grain town. I took over 100 pictures of the 47 creatures and the beautiful carousel Wurlitzer organ. Video'd it too. Dtr just loved the stop. By the way, lady told us "carousels go counter clockwise, merry go rounds go clockwise". OK, prob not important but is interesting. Good night.

On the way home
We left Durango this AM without difficulty. We got to Pagosa Springs before a different Jack started slipping down, just a little, causing the alarm to ping. We Deployed the Jacks in a safe spot overlooking the Springs - very pretty - and brought them back up with no problem. We continued on, Tim driving, over Wolf Creek Pass and into Eastern Colorado to Limon KOA for the night. WCP was amazing and I was glad NOT to be driving. The countryside is so variable and interesting. Eastern Colorado has its rolling prairie, gulches, livestock and ranches. It's good for June to see all this - when she is conscious that is. She is back to her 15 hour per day sleeping habits in the coach - who wouldn't be? It's like a big comfortable cradle back there. Good night. Tim's and June are already asleep. So is Bandit.

Town Day and Relax and recover!
THIS WAS FUN! Today we slept in, relaxed, painted and crafted, went to town for this picture and dinner. Boiled Alaskan Dungeness crab, shrimp, corn, potato and sausage for two - spread on the table messy style - loads of fun. Tomorrow is July 4th so we'll see the parade tomorrow night and fireworks. Hopefully they won't light the canyon on fire! Most fireworks are banned in the area. We've got one more day to go, then home. We developed a crack in the windshield and a lost headlight that we are going to try to get repaired before we drive. We are not hopeful that will happen and can drive like this if necessary. Good night!

Jeep Day
OMG, had we known the fear and terror involved, we wouldn't have done. I guess fear and terror are not good things to put in a brochure. Beautiful, majestic scenery accompanied the terror. I can only upload one picture due to size and it doesn't do the road justice. Most of the time on the way down, I was too frozen to take pictures. I can't imagine people do this for fun! LOTS of jeeps going BOTH WAYS, passing when there isn't even room even for two goats. Boulders in the middle, tilting towards the hundreds of foot drop, no guard rails, passing ! WOW, what views though. I will try to add some independently. The name is Poughkeepsie Gulch trail in the San Juan Mtns - You Tube it for some examples of what we experienced - no, not the absolute worst of the YT's but a lot. Oi.
